California Wildfire Prevention

No disaster stands in our way of providing services to an entire community, not even wildfires. Up and down California, we have dealt with some of the most disastrous wildfires in our state’s history, including Tubbs, Mendocino Complex, Camp, Woolsey and many others. Our neighbors have been drastically affected, as well as our families and homes. We have learned while standing together, we remain the strongest! Our teams have developed special training in response to cleanup due to California wildfires.

We are currently experiencing a massive amount of rain, which will hopefully delay and prevent wildfires from occurring so frequently. However, being prepared for the future can keep you on alert to help protect your community. There are things you can do on a daily basis to prevent wildfires. Here are some ways you can prevent wildfires from spreading:

  1. Always check the weather conditions before using open flame outdoors or any heavy equipment. On a dry and windy day, all that’s needed to start a wildfire is a strike on a rock that’s in your lawn mower’s way and a gust of wind.

  2. Avoid parking or driving your vehicle on dry grass.

  3. Regularly maintain your gas and battery-operated outside equipment, including your vehicle.

  4. Keep a fire extinguisher in your vehicle at all times. You never know when you may need to put out a fire while traveling on the highway, or a vehicle may suddenly catch fire in your area.

If you are in need of smoke and fire damage cleanup due to any type of fire, West Coast Fire & Water is here to help you get back to life as quickly as possible!
